Abandoned Flat & associated quest FAQ

Ok, so I downloaded it, but you could have put Unzip instructions in it! WTF?

Where the hell is the damn thing? I can't find it!

How do I get into the place anyway?

OK, I'm in, but all I see is a house. Where is all the neat stuff people are talking about?

When I enter the Archery area I get an error and then when I continue running the program I have a weird yellow triangle around the target. What's wrong?

When I enter the summoning room I get an error and then I have a weird yellow thing around the floor. What's wrong?

I can not find Nakor anywhere... where is he?

I found two of one of the Chapters for the Nakor quest, now he won't talk to me. Why?

I updated to version 2.0 and now I have doubles of some things. Like doors and planters and mannequins and practice dummies. I hate you! Fix it you bastard!

You're right. It was an oversite. All previous version had instructions. I left them out in my haste to release. I have updated the readme, but for people who already have it and are having issues:

What you need to do unzip to one level below Morrowind.

Ex: C:\Bathesda\morrowind, you unzip to C:\bathesda
Ex: C:\morrowind, you unzip to C:\
Ex: F:\games\rpg\bathesda\morrowind, you unzip to F:\games\rpg\bathesda

I hope that helps!

Where the hell is the damn thing? I can't find it!

Well, I never thought so many people would have difficulty finding the place. I got tired of trying to explain it. So here is a nice shot taken from about 500 feet in the air. This should point you in the right direction: Aerial View. You can see both the Silt Strider and the Boat are within a rock's throw. There is a little bridge just a bit away from the Silt Strider. Take that and you should see the Flat on the hill.

I recommend a good alteration magic skill, a good security skill or a scroll of Lock Splitter. You can also make a magnitude 100 open spell and attach it to an item fairly early on in the game.

Next to the bed is a table, on that table is a blue candle, under that candle is a key. Once you have the key, you can activate the door to the lab, by moving the flowerpot with the fire ferns in it.

You have an early version of the mod, possibly downloaded from Morrowind Summit, You can correct this problem by downloading the updated version at this site.

When I enter the summoning room I get an error and then I have a weird yellow thing around the floor. What's wrong?

When I last posted the fix for the floor, there were two files that decided not to unzip where they belonged:

In_C_summo_room_center.nif
and
Tx_summon_stone_floor.tga

To fix that error, find them and put the .nif in the ..\morrowind\data\meshes\i folder. If you do not have that folder, simply create it. The .tga goes into: ..\morrowind\data\textures

I can not find Nakor anywhere... where is he?

Good question. Not an easy answer, as they always say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks to HannahG for the pic.

I found two of one of the Chapters for the Nakor quest, now he won't talk to me. Why?

I scripted him only to talk to you if you had one. I didn't take in to consideration that the game glitches sometimes and makes two. Simply sell or drop one and try again.

Ok, ok... since you asked so nicely. I will tell you exactly how to fix it as easily as I can.

  1. Approach the item in question, be it a door/mannequin/planter/whatever.
  2. Open the console menu with the '~' key.
  3. Click the item in question, you should see the Console name change from Console to whatever you clicked.
  4. Type 'disable'.
  5. Close the console with the '~' key.
  6. Repeat as necessary.

Simple non?

Harvesters FAQ

Ok, so I get to the Mission where I Protect Beyte Fyr, why do the enemies not die? And they look like they dance. I'm stuck!

Ok, so I get to the Mission where I Protect Beyte Fyr, why do the enemies not die? And they look like they dance. I'm stuck!

Well, all I can say is... oops! And that I'm sorry. A fix for that has been released. You can get it here. It will overwrite the two scripts that are causing that to happen. Sorry for any inconvience.
